You Don't See Dancing Like This in Florida...

There's a whole lot of great stuff in this video that you just don't see in Florida Lindy Hop competition dancing.

Take note, competitive Florida Lindy Hoppers.  Let's work on stealing some of these ideas - they seem like a lot of fun.

Playing Piano with their Feet - Mickey and Kelly

Thanks to Matt Mitchell for suggesting the Balboa video for this week.

Mickey and Kelly are always pushing the envelope with their dancing.  Sometimes they dance to really fast tempos, sometimes they dance to Rage Against the Machine (see below), and sometimes they play piano with their feet. Musicality for the win.

Last week's Balboa class was awesome.  I look forward to seeing you guys again this Saturday at The Lindy Connection where maybe, just maybe, together we can get just a little closer to being this awesome.

Balboa Teacher's Jam - Berlin Balboa

This is a wonderful Balboa teacher's demo featuring some of the best dancers and teachers currently in the scene.  Pay close attention to the moves they choose.  

They start with some very common, core Bal-Swing moves, and then as they each get individual "shines" you can see how each of their styles are personalized and change.

Balboa contains a bit of a hidden depth, but over time you can learn to identify, appreciate, and see how deep it goes.
